Pub's man Gus loses his hair to make them aware

PUB regular Gus Kearnet volunteered to have his hair and moustache shaved by AlisonThornley to raise money for a drug awareness scheme in a local school.

The event at the Park Inn, Montague Street, Blackburn, attracted crowds of people.

Landlady Geraldine Thornley was hoping to raise £200 to pay for a drug awareness scheme to take place at Our Lady and St John's RC High Schoo, Blackburn. The scheme is co-ordinated by Crime Concern to advise parents and pupils abut the dangers of drugs.

Geraldine said: "We were approached by Crime Concern to sponsor them to provide their services to a local school.

"We felt it was a good idea and Gus, a regular at the pub kindly volunteered to have his head and moustache shaved to raise the money."
