Catlike Kai has flown

A PARROT which can meow like a cat escaped by a whisker after being allowed into the garden to soak up some sunshine.

Kai is an African Grey parrot with a wide vocabulary of mimics including cat impersonations and his heartbroken owners are appealing for anybody who spots him to contact them.

He flew from his garden in Manxman Road, Blackburn, on Saturday.

Owner Karen Carter, 27, said: "He goes in the garden every day and has a quick fly around but on Saturday he must have seen something that he fancied, perhaps a cat or something, and took off."

Karen added: "We bought Kai as an anniversary present when I got married in 1999. The house just isn't the same without him.
